    Getting Guns Back From Police

Hello everyone. A few months ago, my brother shot himself and died as a result. He was a troubled young man and apparently didn't realize just how many people cared about him or were willing to do whatever it took to help him. The day that he did it, the police were called and they collected all...

D/A revolvers, enough for todays streets?

Jad0110 Exactly. The FBI can tell you exactly how well six guys armed with high capacity autos, shotguns, and revolvers will fare against one guy with a rifle. The answer is, not very well at all. There's a reason soldiers carry rifles and not handguns. Testpilot Higher capacity has been...

D/A revolvers, enough for todays streets?

Hmm. There is a lot of misinformation being put out on this thread as if it were gospel truth. A few points I would like to address. 1. Semi-autos are more ergonomic. NOT TRUE! The grip on a semi-auto is straight, unlike the human hand due to the requirements of the magazine. Revolver grips are...

How are the new Model 29's from S&W

Sam1911 One of my oldest friends is a mechanical engineer and after examining quite a few of both the modern and older guns, he has come to the conclusion that the newer guns are much better. The modern steel is higher quality too.

    Taurus RB or not?

I never understood the appeal of the 45acp or 45 colt S&W mountain gun. 44 or 41 magnum sure, but those rounds can't be loaded to be a sufficient anti-bear round (at least in the S&W). Personally, I would prefer a blackhawk for that particular job.

How are the new Model 29's from S&W

I had one of the first of the model 29s of the current 29-10 generation. It was a really nice gun. I shot several nice half-inch groups with it. I eventually had to part with it when given the choice of paying rent or keeping it. I will buy another when (if) the economy turns back around and I...

    Taurus RB or not?

I've had a RB since 2005 and it's a fantastic gun. It's surprisingly accurate and a hoot to shoot. My particular gun is the 454, which really is the ideal round for this particular model. Taurus has been known for having some quality issues, but the Raging Bull is their flagship gun, and they...

    Greg Rodriguez has been murdered

http://www.tvshark.com/read/?art=arc10519 The link I've put up says it all. What a shame. He was a nice guy and a father of two. I spoke with him a few times over Facebook and he was always polite and helpful.

    S&W 610-1 Range Report

Havok You are correct sir. My gun is indeed a -3. You've had problems with nickel plated brass? Hmm. I've never had any issues with it. In fact, the first and only box of ammunition that I ever bought for my 610 was nickel plated and I fired that off and reloaded it several times before I got...

    S&W 610-1 Range Report

I have a 610 as well. My gun is part of the run that S&W did in 2008. They take them in and out of production every couple years. Mine has a fluted cylinder, the front of which is beveled for faster holster draw. They really are nice guns though I wish mine had a lighter trigger pull.

    Taurus 608, thoughts?

I owned a really nice 608 for several years. That sucker was wicked accurate. Size wise it's the same a Smith N-frame, but the frame is thicker which makes the gun heavier than a comparable N-frame. I never holstered mine so I can't really give you an answer as to holster fit. The 608 is so...

    Stopping power of a 2-inch barrel 38spl?

As others have stated, never trust "gun facts" that you hear on television. 38 special loads vary so much in performance that it's impossible to make such a sweeping generalization. Not only is a 38 special fired from a short barrel quite capable of killing someone at 30 feet, it can also do so...

What happened to the new Dan Wesson revolvers?

I admit, I've been out of the loop the last two years or so. I remember CZ putting out a new Dan Wesson 357 magnum and getting very excited about the possibility of a Dan Wesson revival. Then hard times hit and buying a gun became impossible so I stopped paying attention. Now that I've come...

S&W Model 29-2 came to visit yesterday

I used to own a S&W 629 dash nothing that was manufactured in 1980. I bought the gun used from the son of the original owner who had passed away. I owned that gun for 2 years and it was a constant pain. When I bought it, it had a very small amount of rust in the flutes of the cylinder that I...
