using 38brass
I got the OAL from the lyman book for a round nose 148gr bullet ..it lists 4.3grains of bullseye for the 148gr round nose bullet but only gets it to 715fps
My Lyman book has a simular weight bullet at 4.3grains of bullseye, however it was listed only at 715fps... so I figured the extra .7 grains would get it up to at least 800fps..
it might be in the +P load range..however I am using it in a .357 gun
Hi Guys,
made my first 38spl loads.. (using in a 357 gun)
cam pro 148g HBWC bullets (flat nose bullets with cone rear)
5grains bullseye powder

Hi guys,
so I am reloading 9mm and 30-06 now very well, and just got a S&W 19-3 .357 revolver and want to reload .357 and 38spl now.
when reloading .357 and 38spl..do you have to crimp the shells to the bullets?
any other tips for .357 and 38spl?
me and my buddy just bought a Tikka T3 light in stainless in 30-06
so far it shoots nice...I will be putting a recoil pad on mine
great gun for the money

I am using 124gr round nose bullets, with 5.8gr of HS-6
the brass kept getting stuck in the ejection port, to me it looks like the slide was not cycling back far enough..
5.8grs was the lowest starting...
I have been using the powder charge and then measuring each one after...
it has been throwing 46.7, 46.8, 47.1 46.9
is that close enough? how close is close? for just target shooting?
Yeah I will stick with the lower end 47grains and see how that goes...
one thing i noticed with this powder vs my hand gun powder (HS-6) is that the handle of my lyman powder measure is very hard to turn, and feels like its grabbing...
vs my handgun loads using 4.8grs of HS-6 the handle...
