Wonderful rifle! Its condition and that of the sling are really remarkable. I've always wondered who came up with the ray gun front sight combined with the throwback rod bayonet. I guess TR's comments about about the bayonet had something to do with the redesign...
What are the chances you'll...
Nothing really available to dress up these nifty old rifles, except - I believe - a Williams receiver sight. The triggers on the 325 and all its descendents are complex and best left alone. I've found a dab of graphited grease from time to time on the sear and the nose of the firing pin much...
Sounds like there's "cross talk" in the scope's adjustments, that is any movement in a given direction (left or right) causes some displacement in the opposite ( up or down) direction and vice versa. Not uncommon in early scopes and inexpensive latter day scopes, too. What are you working with?
30-30 was plagued with feeding problems, although I had one in 35 Remington that wotked like a charm. It was very accurate, too. Can't speak to pricing these days, but I personally would not pay 300 bucks for one.

The triggers are very complicated, and best left alone unless you are really good at working...
87A aka "click-clack gun." They're a hoot!
340's look pretty good compared to a lot of stuff being produced today. I've got one in 222
and a click clack as well...
Kp321 is thinking of the the Remington Model 720, a sporting rifle based on a slicked up 1917 Enfield action. It was offered for a few years before the Second World War. Remington followed it with the 721 in 1948...
My gill gun works fine with everything I put through it, except Remington subsonic ammunition. It may be the bullet shape; Winchester T22's and CCI standard velocity ammunition click-clack right through it!
Springfield Model 87A autoloading 22 made by Stevens. Tried to attach picture of the paperwork but - given the limited computer skills of an old man - I failed...
Picked up a reproduction hang tag and instruction sheet for the gill gun I spoke of earlier. Very high quality, and a wide selection. Check out www.rstmanuals.com
