    8mm Mauser JS

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I needed to worry too much about the chamber. I'll try the same treatment on the feed rails though, because I have had a couple problems with feeding reliability, just clean up the magazine area in general.

    8mm Mauser JS

I appreciate the feedback. I suspected that the scratches, etc. I was seeing were from feed rails/bolt/chamber, and not necessarily pressure signs. Primer pockets are all still nice and tight. This is the third loading for these particular cases, and so far so good. I plan on switching to...

    8mm Mauser JS

Ok. So I recently started reloading for my Yugo M48 Mauser, and am looking for the opinion of the learned folk here at THR. I'm a bit concerned about possible high pressure signs in this brass. First, here is the load I'm using: Rem Brass Hornady 150GR SP bullet 47 gr of Accurate 2015...

Anyone from Portland need a ride up to this, I can share a ride w/ someone. I plan on coming back to Portland Saturday night and heading back up on Sunday AM. Figure we can split fuel costs, I have a Camry so pretty good fuel mileage. :) Shoot me a PM if you're interested. I live in...

    7.62x54R for Mosin Nagant 91/30?

Well, as I played around with the rifle tonight, I did notice that my front sight is loose... sounds like the Mojo Micro-clicks might be in my future as well. I was thinking about scoping this rifle, so that may be an option as well....

    7.62x54R for Mosin Nagant 91/30?

Ok. I've run into a bit of frustration here. I've been trying to work up a load for my MN 91/30. Here's the basic components: Sierra 150gr SP bullet (.311") Wolf Gold Brass CCI 250 primers Accurate 4350 powder All the firing was done at 25 yards to get a feel for the loads. Last week, I...

Well, it's a 1:9.5 twist rate... Which means that's not the problem either, as the minimum for the loads I'm using is 14.5.......

So a bit of follow up. Went back out yesterday, same rifles. Slightly different loads, hoping to find out if it was a fluke or if the rifle was really that accurate. Let's just say I need to slug the bore on this beast and find out what's wrong. Because about half my shots were high and...

So I finally had the opportunity to go try out some of my rifle loads for a couple of Mil-Surp rifles. A Yugo M48 Mauser, and a Mosin-Nagant 91/30. The Mauser performed relatively well, but I found a couple of loads that seemed to be more accurate. I'll be focusing on those loads to find...

    Unusual targets

I don't mean to be a spoilsport here, but I have to admit to being perturbed by some of the items that have been shot at before. I'm by no means a greenie, but I have real problems with a lot of the stuff being shot because it's NEVER CLEANED UP! I've gone up to BLM land around the...

    Moving to Portland, OR

I'd be up for that. My understanding though is that Douglas Ridge caters primarily to hunters, but that may be completely wrong... :)
