Advice Needed - XDm 40 compact or Glock Gen 4 23?

He is talking about an XDm not just an XD, there are a couple of differences between the two. As to the OP I would say shoot them both and decide what YOU like. I personally love the XDm, it shoots amazing and is very comfortable in the hand.

    Remington R1, bad first impression.

    XDm compact? SR9C ?

I can say this about the XDm when using the hi cap 19 round mags.... Heavy, not as heavy as some guns, but for a compact it is a lot of weight when compared to other options. It is a great firearm, down right awesome, but I would step away from the hi cap mag in the summer.

A Can of Worms... CCW in 9mm you thoughts

$1000 for 9mm opens A LOT of options up to you. If you have a range in your area that lets you rent and shoot guns at the range, and has a good selection, give that a try. A lot of what people have suggested are really good options. I am enjoying my CZ 75 P-01, the XDm in 9mm is another fine...

    Remington R1, bad first impression.

Hmm...odd. I have had my hands on a couple and they seemed pretty nice, especially in their price point. I think you found one of the bad ones, and look at it this way; Now that you found it, it can be fixed before someone buys it and gets to the range. You performed a service for another shooter.

I think this thread is pretty well covered, pretty much what everyone else has said and you are golden.

(Hopefully fun): What's next from Hi-Point?

I have owned both carbines and pistols of theirs, and never had a problem with them. They are ugly, heavy, and cheap, but they did digest any ammo I put in them. As for accuracy? Not the most accurate as far as the pistols go, but well within minute of bad guy. This was back when you could buy...

Seeing Double while Shooting- A different kind of vision problem

It sounds like you are left eye dominate, but right handed, as the others have said. I basically have the same issue, right handed but left eye dominate. If I focus with my right eye I see double, with my left it clears up.

    My First Handgun

Well you at least have plenty of ammo to get a good range day in.
