i don't think we will ever see the day that we get them back (although id love to be wrong) these days is more about not letting them go any further and like i said the best way to do that is educate people and join clubs
Thanks Harve if i ever need any research ill grab the book all im worried about these days is letting people know what the general outline off the law is

in my opinion
Tikka - they tend to be a little bit better factory finished. smother action and im yet to see one that isn't accurate right out of the box. they do have the detachable mag tho
700 sps - well built rifles you can buy a billion accessory's and they can be tuned up buy any gun...

Thanks to all who have read this and those that have added to it.
The biggest cause of gun laws like this i believe is
lack of education of firearms and the public perception
Example I am a member of a 4X4 web site and on that site someone started a "put a face to the name"...
"If it's good to start with" Nope its a lot of rifle to start with
"what's the cheapest way to get started with it?" there isn't a cheap way with .338 lap mag
like they said check out 6mmbr or just go get yourself a 308 they are good out to 1 km don't kick to hard, cheaper and a good all...
Im with chriso and Mike the Wolf. 5.56 can be accurate out to 900 yards with a 1 in 6.5 to 9 twist and 90gn projectiles. however for reliable accuracy and humane kills on anything larger than a varmint at 500 yards go the 7.62x51
