Have a 642 and Sig C3 1911. What to buy now?

I have an S&W 442 that I carry everyday and Sig C3 compact 1911 that does bedside duty but may start to get carried now that it is getting colder. I'm going to the gun store today and think that I want to get a full size semi-auto. When I got the C3 I traded in a P229 which I liked very much and...

    Sigs

New Sig This past weekend I traded in my .40 cal P229 w/ some cash for a Revolution GSR C3. It is decidedly more aesthetically pleasing than the 229. Incidentally, does anyone know who manufactures the mags that come w/ the C3?

    The 642 club

Desantis v. Mika I'm in the market for a pocket holster for my 442. I've narrowed it down to a Mika or a Nemsis. The only places I have managed to find that sell either are the "manufacturer" websites. Are there any other places that people are aware of that I should be aware of? Thanks.

    Nemesis v. Mika

I'm looking into buying either a Desantis Nemisis or a Mika pocket holster for my S&W 442. The only places I have found to buy either are the "manufacturer" websites. Does anyone know of any place that sells them for less?

    Pocket Carry

Problem solved this morning. I bought a new 442 for just under $370. Now, all I have to do is procure a suitable pocket holster and self defense ammo, and I'll be set. So, to recap, I initially wanted something to carry and shoot for fun, all in one package. This turned into thinking maybe...

    The 642 club

Bought my First X42 today I bought a 442 this morning at the gun show. $400 out the door, which, with tax at 9.25% in Nashville, works out to just under $370. I told the dealer I was glad he was willing to come down from $380 since Academy Sports has them listed at $372. Anyway, I'm excited...

    Gun Control and Nuclear Weapons

I'm still not biting on the cost of containing adequately being a control on nuclear weapons. Even if it were an adequate control, who would be monitoring the storage? Having the individual do so would not seem to be adequate. If the government is going to do it, then the sort of registration I...

    Gun Control and Nuclear Weapons

Woody- I don't think the line would be drawn within the scope of "shall be infringed." Instead it would be a matter of what the terms "keep and bear arms" means. I'm guessing the critical word for line drawing would be "arms."

    Gun Control and Nuclear Weapons

Well, almost everyone has agreed that SOME line must be drawn. Presumably, as a representative democracy, the one's to draw the line must be the government. They derive their power from us. Therefore, they are the ones with the line drawing power. (Assuming their is some protection within the...

    Gun Control and Nuclear Weapons

I'm not convinced by the cost as an adequate deterrent model. 1) Suitcase nukes aren't nearly as hideously expensive to maintain. 2) A private citizen with any sort of nuclear device at his disposal is an unreasonable danger in any way. My listing of the 2nd amendment among the things I...

    Gun Control and Nuclear Weapons

I'm all for gun rights, the 2nd Amendment, the right to defend oneself, etc. That said, where should the government draw the line as to what an individual is not allowed to possess for these purposes? Firearms? Explosives (i.e. grenades, rockets, mines), armored vehicles, military aircraft...

Favorite Gun Magazine (The Kind You Read)

Though the internet provides a wealth of (mis)information on firearms of all types, what periodicals do you regard as the best with regard to firearms generally? (I'm not particularly interested in the super-specialized hunting magazines, more so longarms, sidearms, accessories, etc.)

    Pocket Carry

Well, I went to the gun show and put the cart before the horse: I paid $550 cash for a CPO P229 in .40 cal. I probably could have gotten it for a little less, but I liked the way it looked. However, it in no way satisfies the pocket carry end of my need. I'm now on the lookout for a used...

    Pocket Carry

Just so I am clear, iiibdsiil, the only difference between the PM9 and the MK9 is polymer v. steel, correct? Not that it matters too much, but I think you're right that I wouldn't have too much trouble carrying the steel. I'm 6'4'' and closing on three bills.
