    Is this a coydog?

The phrase "You ain't from around here, are ya?" comes to mind. My closest neighbor, who happens to own a blue heeler named Jenny, thanked me for putting the "mystery animal" out of commission. I know my neighbors and their dogs and I know they would've done the same thing to ensure the safety...

    Is this a coydog?

Thanks for the support last two posters. I am 100% sure this was NOT someones pet anyway. As far as what it is, I've never seen a feral dog or a coydog in person so I'm not sure what it was. I am sure it was not a blue healer or any other domestic dog and I am pretty sure it wasn't a...

    Is this a coydog?

I would put down any animal acting agressively inside my tool shed. We tried talking to it for 20 mins before I shot it. Given the circumstances I would've done the same even if it was wearing a tag the said "Fluffy".

    Is this a coydog?

Definitely not a blue heeler. My neighbor has one and this thing didn't look anything like that. I'm in central IL surrounded by corn and soybeans so free range livestock is about 3-4 generations ago. If this was an animal belonging to any of my neighbor's they would've come to see me about...

    Is this a coydog?

Based on the photos what do you think? When the hired man walked out into the shed this morning he heard barking. He walked towards the back and this little guy ran out and bit him on the leg. Luckily it mostly got his boot and didn't break the skin. My dad said he'd seen this dog in the...

Minimum hunting caliber for big game in your state?

In Illinois it's shotgun 10 through 20 gauge loaded with slugs only. Muzzleloaders must be .45 or larger firing a bullet .44 or larger. (The sabot doesn't count.) Handguns must be .30 or larger with at least 500 ft/lbs at the muzzle. Whitetails are the only big game around.

    32 S&W Long

Lot of assumptions here. Taking the high road. Over and out.

    32 S&W Long

You caught me. My plan IS to "hot rod" with 32 long cases and cast bullets in a 327revolver. :banghead: I realize there are better powders but I don't have any of them on hand and the LGS is an hour away. I'll get some bullseye when time allows. Thanks to those who answered my question.

    32 S&W Long

I've got 800-X and Universal on hand. I tried Universal before (a Hodgdon recommended load) and there were unburned flakes in the barrel and cylinders. Safe starting load for 800-X? Thanks.

    32 S&W Long

Can somebody recommend a starting load of IMR 800-X for a 79gr cast bullet in 32 S&W Long cases. I'll be shooting these out of a 327 Federal revolver. Thanks

    Estimating Velocity

Is there any good fomulas or methods of estimating muzzle velocity in a different length of barrel than the length used for ballistic testing. For example if I know the velocity of a 357 round in a 6" barrel how do I estimate velocity in a 20" barrel? Not looking for stats on 357, just an...

    Win 94 in 30-30 Safety

Got a sweet deal on a 94 in 30-30 a while back. It's a good looking gun and it shoots well. Only paid $150. :neener: I hate that little safety under the grip that the lever has to push though. Is there anything that can be done about that little guy? Discuss...:)
