Mossberg 500 Shotgun Disassembly Guide by Mini-Me

That is a very outstanding description in addition to being as funny as a boiled owl.

    Best combat revolver?

Combat Revolver My vote would be a .41 magnum 4" Smith & Wesson Model 58. Pachmayr grips. Magna-ported.

    How/Where do you pocket carry?

Pocket carry I carry either a 640-3 or a 642 in my right front pocket in a Mika pocket holster. Left front pocket carries 2 speedloaders and pocket has my phone. Left rear pocket has my badge/ID case. Right rear has my wallet and a clip in place knife. The choice of the all-steel 640-3 or the...

    Fitz Special project

I second Old Fuff. Fitzgerald probably could match wits with you about his modifications. You do have a right to your opinion. Me, too! Mine is a lot of opinions are like rectums and for the same reasons.

M&P Shield, why are there no doubters?

M&P 9 Shield Probably a reason there are less doubters is that this is a tried and proven handgun. All M&Ps have been available with or without thumb safeties all along. I stayed away from the M&Ps for several reasons but spotted a .45acp with two barrels from the factory and handled it...and...

I Did not know this.......Technically speaking

A revolver is not a pistol. Proper nomenclature is not a nickname. I learned at my Aunt Catherine's table. She was married to the late Colonel Douglas E. Morrison and travelled the world with him for his career. They retired in 1945. I also learned in my military career what the difference was...

The great 8-3/8" S&W barrels (Calling Old Fuff!)

Long tubes I just bought a Clark 8.25" Python barrel for my 1965 Python. When I bought the revolver it was already drilled and tapped for a Weaver mount on top. Looking forward to seeing how it works at the range.

Smith 27-2 versus new Model 27 Classic

New S&Ws :fire: The fit and finish on the new ones is not within a million miles of the old S&W quality. I believe the strength of the new steel is much better but I despise nicking my fingers on the edges of a "new" S&W,

    Photoshop: 5" Super Redhawk

MAg Na Port does a custom job that looks pretty much like that. Look them up on line and look at "Revolver Jobs".

    S&W M&P 5". Five screw. Mfd. 1947.

5 Screws Mine is a PPC revolver with a 6" stainless barrel and a Wichita rib. I bought it already converted and had the finish work done by Chris Peters in NH. I will get it out of the safe tomorrow and get some photos of it to post. I have promised it to a friend since I have lost sight in my...

    Ex cop/currently works in morgue

Ammo This is humbug. Over four decades in Police work I learned the 10% / 90% rule well. If 10% of what someone says is BS then the other 90% is highly suspect. The writer lost me when he was bragging about the number of post-mortem exams he saw every day ("365 days a year"). I call BS on that...

    Made for Fighting

Those are great examples. I like the .45acp and in addition to this one, which my son now has, I have a 325NG in a Sam Andrews Monarch shoulder rig. I also have a Charter Bulldog which now has the front sight polished off. After seeing WC145's I decided to send it to Magnaport.

    Actual civilian gunfights

Ammo I suspect that personal preference should dictate how much ammo one carries. Personally, I don't want to "clank like a tank" when I walk, but I heard a long time ago that, "nobody ever walks away from a gunfight thinking, ' I brought too much ammunition' ". So maybe there is a happy medium...

Security/Python Not sure what to think?

Rolts, Cugers, ... I like it. I have real Pythons and real Troopers and real DSs. and I would buy this in a heartbeat. Just not for what he was asking on GB. The ones I used to see were Smythons...Python on a Smith M-19...and they were very accurate. In addition to the barrel bore closing from...

    Colt Python Elite

Pythons My blued 4" Python has the stars and .357 mag on the barrel. In my lowly opinion you'd have to go a long way to beat a nice Python. Don't care what values others put on them....the money can't be imagined that it would take to buy mine.
