If you do not have youyr heart set on Kydex, I have gradually moved everything I own to leather, Mitch Rosen's Express Line is relatively quick to ship, depending where you find it, and much more reasonable than his custom line. Quality is amazing and my personal opinion is that leather is more...
just ordered the book and guide the other day from the website. Did a paypal transfer and i got a response from her very quickly. I got a follow-up response indicating shipping status this morning.
Over the years have had both lightweight and "combat" Commanders. I don't see much difference in their longevity. Currently have a Wiley Clapp Commander and I don't see much wear or looseness. I think it will outlast me!
Double Tap is worth the price. The 200gr at abt 1250 is fantastic from my G29. I have a local reloader who also shoots/loves 10mm and he has made some 135gr nosler hp at 1550fps that are, you should excuse the expression, a blast to shoot.

Power level is closer to a .41 mag revolver and the G29 is probably even a better gun than the G20. They are a dream to shoot. What I have found is that the people that shoot 10 regularly are "rabid" about it. The claims of excessive recoil are way exaggerated.

I just traded a Sig 230 for a 642, it just cariies more easily. Took it to the range last night and was very pleased with the recoil and accuracy. At 7-10yds putting them all in a fist sized area was a nice surprise. The Federal 110gr low recoil rounds were particularly accurate.

Your point makes sense about the more narrow population of guns that I see, however I am also including guns that people use on the range and are not there to trade or have fixed.
