I notice that there are many other powder choices available and some appear to replace 2400. I am sure that the other powders are good, but I still plan to continue using 2400 as long as I can. Locally, I have not noticed any supply interruption.
I have a VZ-24 action with a 24" ER Shaw barrel. The best combination so far is a 140gr Hornady BTHP match bullet (#2633) that has been moly coated over 43.8gr of IMR 4831 using WLR primers. The oal is 2.805. My best 5 shot group at 100yds measured .501".
I shoot a Remington 600 w/ an 18" barrel. I have tried IMR 3031 and Hod Bl-C2 and enjoyed good results. In 1995, I switched to Win 760 for this rifle. It has been the best powder for me.
