I took some of your advice and instead of trading I'm selling the old girl on gunbroker.com. This is the one that I have ground out some SSN engravings and now I'm hoping to get enough to get a good auto pistol. Check it out and thanks for all the input.
I hear ya Foppy D. I'm 49 and have two girls and no grandkids (yet) and they could care less about my grandfather's guns. I figure that I might as well get the guns that interest me and let these guns go to someone like you that will treasure them.

Would it have been better to leave the engraving? I can't imagine leaving the SSN on it. I don't know why my dad and grandfather insisted on doing this!:cuss:
