I know the Spam cans hold 400, but these cans are somewhat smaller.

Thanks jonnyc for the country of manufacture. I've figured out that the 7.62x25 can holds 800 rds, but still are not sure how many are in the x54R tin.

I guess it couldn't hurt to try adjusting the regulator. The ejected casings hit the roof of the shooting benches (fairly hard) from between 12:00-1:30 & fwd.
