    Another Leupold Failure

I have had three Leupold scopes for many years and did have one fail a few years ago. Actually while it is the oldest of the three, it's the one I'd least expect to fail, a M8-3X fixed power scope. Luckily they do have the best warranty and service in the business and it was returned to me in...

    Question on Marlin 336cs

From what I've read, the Marlin 30 aw started out as their lower end Glenfield 30as which had a birch stock. Sometime in the mid 80s, I believe 1983 they dropped the Glenfield line and turned that model into the Marlin 30 as. From 1984-1988 they were only made for Walmart sales and the...

    Question on Marlin 336cs

I have both the 336RC in .35 Rem. and the 336CS in .30-30. The RC is from 1957 the CS more recent. Both were bought in very rough shape and refinished. I paid $225 for the 336CS and $195 for the 336RC. Both shoot great! Here's a photo of each. Don 336CS 336RC

    New Vaquero?

I guess Ruger decided that CAS is where the money is, and they're following it, along with the suggestions from it's participants. It's nice to know they listen. I'm thinking of taking advantage of the lull before the storm, and buy a Birdshead now. I wasn't sure how I'd like the grip/frame...

    New Vaquero?

I'm wondering what level of .45 Colt loads this new Vaquero will handle. The old Vaquero could be had in .44 mag and the .45 Colt load levels could meet the pressure standards of those .44 mags. I'm also curious if the Birdshead models will be discontinued if this is the only size frame the...

    223, 22-250, 243, or 308

I've used three of the calibers you listed, and all three will do great for varmint shooting. The 308 isn't a varmint round, but it does have the distance and accuracy, and the groundhogs don't know the difference. The .243 is middle ground for both of your listed uses, but ammo doesn't come in...

    Marlin Talk Refugees

Add another refugee to your list. I haven't been posting much on Marlin Talk lately, but have been active on H+R/NEF Talk. They both will be missed, but we do have other sites to visit. I spend time on Handloaders forum, Loadyourown forum, and Shooters forum, that's where I had learned of this...
