Range report Browning .22 lr ammo

I have long found Winchester .22s among the best in my guns. Remingtons have long disappointed me. But, the only time I had one fire OOB was a Winchester. No damage to the rifle though. My .22LR guns run the gamut from cheap mass market guns to tight-bored heavy barreled match and target rifles.

    Making a gun from scratch

Great work! I am impressed. Like others, I have long had the desire to build a gun from scratch, vs. a kit. The satisfaction must be truly awesome!

What is the last gun that you bought?

My first AR-15 last year (replacing my non-AR .223Rem rifle that was stolen five years ago), And, I just received the AR-15 80% lower kit, jig set, parts kit and complete upper for my second poodleshooter. Darned things are like Lays tater chips.

    What Is Up With Academy?

I have a local Academy, so haven't ordered from them. I have been to the store twice, both were exercises in frustration and bad service. There won't be a third time. Bass Pro recently came in, across the higway from Academy. Prices aren't great, but their service is far better. I have other...

Stevens Savage Model 15 rimfire rifle

The Stevens Model 15 boy's rifle has a one piece receiver/barrel unit, so no, no possibility of a GM barrel. Mine was given to me at the age of twelve, I am nearly 60 now, and have refurbed it a couple times through the decades. Still shoots like brand new, pretty fair for such a basic and...

"Freedom From Fear Act" seeks to reinstate 1994 AWB

I really hate seeing this kind of bombastic nonsense, a totally knee-jerk reaction, coming from a politico in my state. But, this is why it won't go anywhere - we Floridians will vote to keep our guns. Hopefully enough in that area will also see fit to vote this leftist tool out of his job.

Different Color Plastics = Different Properties?

For firearms I don't know. But aving been building plastic scale models for decades, I do know certain colors of Styrene plastic are different. Clear tends to be hard and fragile, easily cracked or broken. White tends to be soft. But some companies do have differing hardness in the same...

Ohio Professor Offers Gun-Control Solution: "Storm NRA HQ & Make Sure There Are No Su

This is absolutely the very epitome of a terrorist threat. This leftist tool needs to be charged and tried under the Fed's Terrorist law. A guilty versict with proper sentence might make others of a similar ilk think twice before spewing their venom openly.

Be Honest; How many bought ammo today?

I have been reloading everyting I shoot for years, and haven't bought factory ammo since 2008. But...... bought my first AR-15 last week, and got a 120-rd pack of 55 gr. 5.56X45 with it. Ordered a boatload of accessories. Having more fun than a gal with a new dress to 'accessorise'...

Academy the latest to pull MSR sales

I just finally "bit the bullet" and bought my DPMS AR-15 from Academy locally last week. They had about eight on the shelf. Glad I got it when I did. Even though they will apparently still sell them, it will affect their sales if guys do not see them displayed.

What do you think of www.full30.com?

First I have heard of this site. Many thanks for the heads-up! Added them to my list of gun websites.

What would be the most obnoxious firearm to shoot at a range?

For me, it was the feller sitting next to me at the shooting bench with his UltraMagnum Eargeschplitten LoudenBoomer with the BOSS on the business end. Hurt the heck out of my ears, though I was wearing foam plugs and my mouse ears. Of course HE likely would say it was my beloved CETME with...

Why are gun rights supporters worried about bans on so-called assault weapons?

The answer to is question is so blatantly obvious, that it invalidates and destroys is entire question. To wit...... these guns are NOT "assault weapons" in any way, shape or form. What we 'gun enthusiasts own are just 'modern sporting rifles'. His whole question is one of perception and an...
