    Are climbing stands safe?

    Climbing stands are safe as long as you wear a safety harness. You also want to tie a rope between the upper section of the stand and the lower, it's not much fun climbing down the tree with just the upper section.

    rimfires for ccw

    Plenty of people have been killed with a 22. I would rather have a 22 I could be accurate with than a bigger gun that I couldn't shoot well. That being said I feel that bigger is better, nothing smaller than a 380 or 38 special would be my choice for ccw.

    It is safe to fire either type of slug in the improved cylinder choke, the sabot really needs a rifled barrel to reach it's accuracy potential.     Any tips for a new 11-87?

    Keep the choke tubes tight, they may want to loosen up after a couple of boxes of shells. Also, keep the magazine tube (outside of tube) clean and lightly oiled. I use break free, it seems to work pretty good. Change the action tube spring every 15000 rounds. Break em all!

    Firing 3" in 2 3/4" chamber

    One of my hunting buddies took his first whitetail many moons ago with a couple of 3" slugs in a 2 3/4" 870. He had to knock the second shell casing out with a cleaning rod. He hasn't attempted this since then as far as I know.
