    S&W 65-3 smoked brass

I have a used S.S. S&W 65-3 that produces smoked or discolored brass when firing .38 special. The gun is tight with little cylinder gap. I wonder if this is normal or do I have a worn cylinder?

    Cylinder Movement, Webley Mrk VI

Thanks, there is a lot of knowledge out there. I had to replace barrel on.455. The replacement from Apex is older and lighter, thinner wall than original 1918. Would you think, while not as strong of course, it would be OK to fire?

    Cylinder Movement, Webley Mrk VI

How much rotation of the cylinder would be acceptable in an old .455 Webley when it is in battery? I can't figure out how to reduce to almost zero. The gun has all matching serial numbers.

    Webley Mark VI cylinder indexing

Thanks for reply, was your pawl obviously worn? I see no apparent wear and wonder if it is not an accumulation of many wear points. my pawl seems to be rounded at tip. Should it be square?

    Webley Mark VI cylinder indexing

I have a Webley MarkVI which seems to be in general good shape, except cylinder indexing. The pawl moves it almost to the final tab lock up but not far enough. If it were to reach this tab it would be properly index with the barrel. Any ideas on how to adjust or fix? thanks, Boat
