    Crushed walnut shell media

When using any type of walnut media, I leave the tumbler outside with the lid off. The dust wafts away and pretty much eliminates dust deposits on the cases.

Finally Ran Out Of Undesirable Components

I love your frugality, Lerk! I also take great joy in reloading my AA hulls (circa 1970s) until they're crispy. On my last batch of shotshells, I used up a batch of 30 or 40 year old copper colored CCI 209 primers, and I made sure to use the oldest AA hulls I had. It did feel good to use up...

Stabbing attack at TX college at same time Congress is pushing Gun Control

Pro-gun control advocates will say, "Well, at least they just got cut and they're not dead" as a reason to justify why this does not compare to gun bans. Be prepared to argue against that logic.

Does walnut shell media wear put?

+1 for running the tumbler outside with the lid off. Pretty much eliminated dust deposits on the cases for me.

    22 hornet

I find the Hornet great for getting rid of feral dogs here in the central U.S.

    340PD ammo suggestions

I should note that the Hornady ammo that jumps crimp in my 340PD is the Critical Defense .38 +P 110gr FTX. I haven't tried other Critical Defense bullet weights to see if there's a difference.

    340PD ammo suggestions

I experience crimp-jumping in my 340PD using Critical Defense .38 Spl +P. I use a firm, two-handed hold and limp-wristing isn't an issue. Lovely gun, but it is simply so light and recoil so sharp that Newton's 1st Law works beautifully. By the 5th round, the bullet has jumped about .170"...

    77/22 .22 Hornet

I've sent 3 rifles back to Ruger for accuracy "repairs": A 77/22H, 77/22VHZ, and a 77MKII in 30-06. After following Ruger's instructions for testing accuracy, I sent them back for accuracy work under the Lifetime Warranty. Total cost to me was $20 UPS shipping per rifle because of the free...

Anyone shooting Ruger 77/22 in 22 Hornet?

I couldn't keep 10 rounds on an 8.5x11 in piece of paper at 100 yards when I first got my Ruger 77/22H. After following Ruger's accuracy test instructions (shoot 3 different types of factory ammo), I sent the gun and the targets back to Ruger. While there, they cleaned up the barrel, the...

    Interesting happening today

In sidelighting on a bright, sunny day, I've seen--from a quartering perspective--.45 ACP slugs zing downrange in a copper colored arc. Granted, the .45 is a big lumbering piece of lead. :neener:

    Run in with TSA today

Bravo to the OP. Nothing is more important than holding the Government to its own rules. Any government agency that is permitted to make rules up on the fly or use power to force its way is a disaster waiting to happen. Firm and polite. Thumbs up!

What clever little things have you "invented or discovered" that you can share?

I use walnut media and I like to run my vibrating tumbler outside on a slightly windy day. I leave the lid off so that the dust produced during cleaning wafts up and out of the bowl. It significantly cuts down on the residue left over once I remove the brass.
