    savage 24's

You'd think that New England Arms/H&R/Rossi would do this. The ones that come with two interchangeable barrels are self-defeating in my opinion.

    The Book of Eli

I met my 27 year-old son at the theater on Friday to go see it. We were psyched. The theater is state-of-the art and all-digital. Fifteen minutes past when the movie should have been rolling, a staff member came in and announced the equipment would be down for a while, and that we could get a...

    brake cleaner?

Perhaps the biggest danger of all is that brake cleaner is also pretty hard on your lungs. It really should be used outside. I am also an advocate of compressed air and CLP, but ONLY if the compressed air is dry. Blowing moist air into the dark places of a gun spells disaster.

    savage 24's

I love mine. I have the .22/.410 and I'd love to get a 24C. Definitely try to find an older gun, Jim. They are not as well-made as the new guns, but they are much lighter. The new guns seem very heavy to me, but I must admit I have not seen the specs. I am also not sure if you want the...

    Short-shucking experiments.

Good advice! As with anything mechanical, deliberate and mechanical movements mean reliabilty and predictability.

Draw your weapon to fire or to scare away?

My thoughts to the letter, but my simple yankee brain just says: Brandishing is stupid. Once done - and the weapon not used for its intended purpose - you've played your hand. BG sees gun and knows you are reluctant to use it - may return with a gun himself or friends with guns. Don't pull it if...

    You people must be millionaires

Oh, and in keeping with the original poster's theme on being a millionaire: Like anything else, buying guns and supporting your hobby isn't a matter of being rich; its a matter of being consistent and persistent. You've got to be focused, and know what you want and then take steps to make...

    You people must be millionaires

I have been married 33 years next month. Long ago, I told the wife to simply stop her bitchin' and listen to my wisdom. Guns are currency. They are the only thing on Earth that will never diminish in worth, wether it be to kill or to save. They are universal weapons, and can be used by anyone...

What's Your Best Gun Deal Ever?

I was going to tell you guys about the Springfield Armory XD9 I bought for $150, but that deal pales in comparison to Dryhumor's deal. Dryhumor, you are one lucky s.o.b.

    Your Best Shot Ever

We have a private range, owned by the local gun club. Its gated and locked, and there is only a small number of us that use it. Its fairly reclusive, and we can do just about any bloody thing we want in there, as long as we clean up and do our part to keep it clean. I grew up with a rifle in...

What's Your Best Gun Deal Ever?

Everyone has one, or eventually will run across one. We all have deals we like to brag about. Personally, I gloat! :neener: My friends of the gun-speak variety at work all claim poverty (mostly due to bad spending habits and too much credit), and many just don't live and breath guns like I do...

    used AR price question

Disregard that link. They obviously made an error. The price on that lower is now $350!

    Good ol' days coming back?

Those ARE good ol' days prices. Grats! Personally, I'd like to see a fresh new load of demilled AK kits with barrels intact hit the market at pre-election prices.

    Expedition hunt

Agreed. I personally believe 300-400 yards should be the max for any fast-moving game. I think it's essential for getting a clean, enthical, humane kill.
