    I have inherited my Granfathers Smith & Wesson 38 Special, 6 shot revolver. I do not know very much about revolvers, so I'm not sure what is needed for dating the pistol. That said, the barrel is 5" in length and the serial number on the butt of the handle is 251725. Stamped on the right side...
