What pump shotgun are you buying if Mossberg and Remington (Rem Arms) are not an option?

as a lefty I have used and owned 4 Ithaca 37's over the years, 2 12 ga, 1 20 ga and currently , at age 75, I still own my uncles 1957 16 ga...enjoyed every one of them but the 16 is my favorite

.45 GAP? Why do I want one?

I actually shoot my GAP better than my glock 40, so for me it's a keeper

    I can see clearly now

At age 74, I had both eyes done 2 months ago...all I can say is, I've worn glasses for nearsightedness since I was 12 years old and now my vision is 20/20 except for reading, which is my favorite pastime. A pair of $6.00 readers fixed that on day one. Colors are a little brighter, bright sun...

What was the first gun you ever bought for yourself?

Mine was an Ithaca 12 gauge model 37 in 1969 after getting discharged from the Army. 50 years later I own a few more, mostly handguns. The old Ithaca was sold during my 40's when I was too drunk to own a gun. Now 30 years as a friend of Bill W, am sober and I don't feel the same need to put and...

North's second term at NRA goes south.

boom-boom, I like what you said here and it makes so much sense...WOW. I'm a "gun toting social worker", long retired, but I like my guns and I don't like the anti's who just think we all are "gun crazy shooters". Many is the time I've had to show my liberal-minded friends that my guns are not...

Savage 99 good but you can tell John Browning didn't design it!

I've never had a feeding problem with any of my five 99's. a 22hp TD from 1915, a 303 Savage TD from 1911, a 30-30 TD from 1918, a 300 savage from 1952 and a 243 from 1964. Use handloads in all and they get shot around 100 rounds a year each. I would suggest a slight mechanical problem, worn...

Christmas came early a Savage Model 99

My 99 in 300 Savage shoots the best with 4064, but Varget is a close second. I've loaded from 110 grain spitzers to 165 and using a standard page printed target I get 90% of the loads on paper at 100 yards without trying too hard. I shhot 'cause I like to shoot, not so much for minute of deer...

What is the last gun that you bought?

A 1917 built Remington model 14 in .32 Remington, don't really know why but I liked the looks of it

    Most accurate autoloader?

Based on how the gun shoots in my hands, my 1969 vintage Browning HP is the best, followed by my Glock G37, yep a 45GAP. I have a few others,9mm, 40 S&W and 45acp, but those two are the best pistols when I'm shooting. Most times at the range they are better than my few revolvers. The other...

    Which precision powder measure?

I use two older Ohaus measures for handguns and a Redding for my rifle drops. Even with Unique the drops seldom vary by as much as .3 grains. Was gifted the first Ohaus when i started reloading, purchased two off eBay for parts to make one and got the Redding for $10.00 at a garage sale. The...

    Powder Measures

I have 2 old Ohaus measures and 1 Redding, all are accurate to .1 grain. Use the ohaus measures for pistol powders and the Redding for Rifle. Used to check every 10 drops, now I check 2 or 3 times per 100, that's reliability. YMMV Boox

What is your most fun gun?

My 90 year old Remington 121 or my late 60's marlin model 60...better than peanut butter on toast.

What is YOUR favorite Conceal carry gun?

Lately I find myself carrying my S&W 3919 or a Glock 37. They both feel about the same weight on my belt, so good to go. Boox

Your favorite all around powder measure?

I've been spoiled by my two Ohaus measures. Set it and forget it consistency every day. I do also have and old Redding that I use for rifle powders, another set it and forget it.

Looking for some ideas for Savage 99

I'm picking up a .243 Savage 99 tomorrow and I'll be getting a couple of boxes of ammo to play with and test. What I'm wondering is; 1. anything special to know about the '99. It is a late 60's vintage DL with monte carlo stock and the rotary magazine. 2. What weight bullet and what...
