So who's going to convert their AR to 300 Ham'r?

Just got through testing some 7.62X 40 WT loads with fire formed cases using 110gr Speer Hot core for fire forming. (A1680,26.5gr,2466 fps). This actually would make a good hunting load. Tested Barnes 110gr TTSX ,( two different loads,2400 fps and 2500fps), 110 gr TACX,,2500 fps and 130 gr Speer...

Worth it to separate cases by headstamp?

I weigh all my brass including brass with the same head stamps as I have occasionally found as much as ten grains variance in the same brands. There was an old rule of thumb posted in the "American Rifleman" to reduce the charge by 12% of the difference in case weight.(0.12.X 10= 1.2)The heavier...

Has anyone chronoed the .25/45 out of a 16" barrel? 'used the 80gn TTSX in this cartridge?

    25-45 Sharps

The idea is to have a better round than the 5.56 for hunting, using the same plentiful brass, legal for deer in all states where rifle hunting is allowed,(check your states regs.)requiring only a barrel change. Also uses the same magazines. I love my 6.8SPC but components are not always as...

scope on an AR 15 A2 carry handle

Carry handle scope mount I put a see through carry handle scope mount adapter on a bushmaster 6.8spc that came with the detachable carry handle. This put the sight height at 4". I was able to get a snap on cheek piece for my DPMS ,6 position stock; which gave a good cheek weld. The mount...

Where are reloading components available (Not a Discussion Thread)

Powder Available powdervalleyinc.com has powder available today. CFE223 ,8 lbs for $145.75.That's $18.22 a pound. They also had H322 for a bit more. The way to beat the shipping and hazmat is to order4-8 pounders at a time .The hazmat is the same and the shipping not correspondingly more. I...

    Small rifle magnum primers

cci 400 vs cc1 450 "Sunray" said the only difference between the two (magnum and standard primer)was the priming compound and nothing else. The standard CCI small rifle primers (#400) have a .005 thinner cup than the magnum, bench rest or mil spec.

    Small rifle magnum primers

cci 400 vs cc1 450 When I asked CCI ,I was told the 450's have a .025 thick cup vs a .020 cup on the 400's. The heavier cup was recommended for rifles with floating firing pins. >025 and .020 are not the same! Some shooters( including Me) had "slam fires" with their 6.8SPC using CCI #400.

    Reloading .308 AR

Anyone found a good load for 155gr Palma with CFE.223 out of 16" BBL,.308Win ,AR? Using both standard and magnum CCI primers I have been unable to find a load that has any consistent accuracy. I have found a good load with IMR4064 but hate the way it meters from my powder measure.

    Bushmasters

Carbon 15 I bought a Carbon 15 in 2008 when Sportsman's Ware House had them on sale for $500.00 with plastic case, two 30rnd mads,Bushnell dot sight, sight riser blocks , safe chamber indicator, and cheap nylon sling. It now has around 4000 rounds of 5.56/.223 , several thousand .22LR through a...

    Barrel life

Wearing Barrel Out Target shooters wear barrels out faster than a hunter needs to consider because they have to be more nit picking about their accuracy unless you are going for extreme long range (1000yds +). I.5"@100yds used to be the gold standard for big game rifles. That well easily give...

    loads for AR-10 carbine

In other words, you pulled the buffer and spring and installed them behind the spring? I did not wait for a reply because when I checked my rifle the marks on the outside of the case almost exactly matched the rear of the ejection port. The front of the bolt was behind the ejection port...

    loads for AR-10 carbine

i have been seeing a scratch mark on the outside of the brass about 3/8" from the base . That just may be the brass hitting the back of the ejection port? By under the spring do you mean at the back of the spring?
