I love my Yugo SKS. It's fun to shoot, accurate enough for the plinking I do, built like a tank, and not at all picky on ammo. I find it easy to strip and clean.
While working around the house, I save scraps of 2X4. When the kids and I go to the sandpits we set up a bunch of small scraps of wood and shoot them to pieces.
Focusing on what I gather you are targeting for a market...
Classic Firearms Woodworking
Classic Wood Grips and Stocks
Classic Firearms Accessories
Something along those lines...
Did I get the last reasonable priced one? Bought it two weeks ago, Yugo, all matching serial numbers, nice shiny bore for $299 and they threw in two boxes of ammo and a cover for it.
I pocket carry a 642. As someone said above, I position the grip out of the pocket so I can get to it if I need it. When I get out of the truck it falls back into my pocket.
