Jordan wasn't any more gifted than another. His skills at 1/2 hip came from hours of proprioceptively training to shoot from that position. If you don't put the time in, you don't get to a level he exhibited.
The trouble is that the firing azimuth is set by squaring up to the target, and by...
There are those who would be robbed at gun point who wouldn't contemplate attempting a disarm. Here's what the mentors had to say about it [ former OSS guys/ paraphrased, of course ]
"As long as the muzzle is pointed at you, you are theoretically dead. Whether intentionally or otherwise, if...
Post 11 addresses your concerns perfectly. Work within the parameters you are presented with, including distances encountered. Nothing wrong about practicing at various distances, including one stuck in your face or chest.
Do people KNOW what range/distance they can affect a disarm even...
Some will consider this foolish. However, I've had two instances where these disarming skills were utilized on the street and afforded my being able to sleep in my own bed that night instead of a hospital bed or the morgue slab. In a past life, I worked UC on the streets for 28 years.
I've trained others all across the US in disarms in my h2h/defensive edged weapons courses for the last decade.Picked up the skills back in 80 at SIONICS counter-terr training, Powder Springs, Ga.
What you see in the vid and next two took 5 minutes to learn from the mentors. Had to turn around...
I am astonished how much this ability varies with individuals.
Yet I don't see much of any variance once the student has been guided/trained in the courses of fire. WW2 1/2 hip [ shooting from the hip ] is a body indexing skill. Students don't all learn at the same pace, but all students have...
One may not know whether more than one per is necessary or not. In the latter part of the clip, one observes running back to the first threat and then back and forth, demonstrating if they are still viable, the lead doesn't stop till they are. IOW, it's resolved, whether it's one each or moving...
Greg Covington out of Ohio made this one for me. It's been sheathed by Panther Concealment in Fla and is enroute for delivery end of the week.
It's blade is 9 1/2" and overall is 14 3/4.
From ten feet, the time would be three quarters of a second. Can you draw and fire from concealment in that among of time?
10ft!? Have you actually tested this under pressure?
First shot is about .8-.9 seconds from concealed here, it's not easy to make that 3/4 second mark...
