It also has the factory mounted side plate but I've heard that using those could mount the scope somewhat high and make it a little uncomfortable. Any truth to that?

One of my revolvers is a Heritage Rough Rider in .45 Colt and I typically shoot 255 gr. LFN rounds. Does anyone know if the Heritage Big Bore is able to safely fire the Cor Bon 300 gr. round? Or is it too powerful for the revolver? Thanx.
