Shotshells it is! Thank you everyone. I knew this was the right place to ask. Those things look like they would be fun. — Kyle

    Strange ammo question

Hey there! I know I don't post much (as in almost none) but I've got a question that only the good folks of THR can help me with. A co-worker's friend just inherited some firearms and ammunition from his father who recently past away. Among the ammunition is several rounds of strange bullets...

Has anyone actually USED a sjambok?

I've never used a sjambok but (as my forum name suggests) I do carry a bullwhip while walking around the neighborhood with my dogs or children. It's a four foot shot loaded whip that I make out of kangaroo. I call it a Pocket Bull. It is a miniature bullwhip that coils up and fits in my back...

    Buck Nighthawk

I had one a few years back. I didn't care for it. The blade was heavy and the handle was really light with a poor grip. Especially when it got wet. The grind was also very thick and I could never get a good edge on it.

    saps

Yes, I made those whips. The debate about whips as weapons rolls on. If you do a search in this forum you'll find a prior discussion concerning the topic. When I hike in the woods I carry a full sized bullwhip but the whips pictured above are mini-whips (four inch handle, four foot braid)...

Do you carry a sheeple-friendly knife?

My current EDC includes a BK11 (Becker Necker), either a Victorinox 'Rucksack' or Leatherman PST and my low profile sheeple friendly knife is a Spyderco 'Meercat.' The Meercat has a blade under two inches and I've used in the midst of a restaurant with out calling undue attention. Of course, I...

    saps

Saps or blackjacks are usually listed as illegal weapons but whips aren't. When I go into the city or just on a walk around the neighborhood I usually can be found carrying one of these: The handles of these mini-whips use a steel nail as the foundation and several ounces of lead is...

ABC Shows Machine Guns for AWB

I must admit that I'm nowhere near as educated about different firearms as you folks. However, I was watching KING 5 news (a local NBC affiliate) here in the Seattle area as they were doing a story on the end of the AWB. At one point during the story the correspondant was talking about these...

    ATC Tomahawks

I own an ATC Vietnam Tactical with the acetal handle and have been extremely pleased with it. Works fantastic for throwing and chopping and there is no worry of the handle coming loose and falling out. I hang it from my belt while hiking (using the provided sheath) and because of the light...

    Homemade flamethrower

Indiana Jones and the Bullet Proof Jacket

I should point out that I am a huge fan of Indiana Jones and the 1930s and '40s. Yes, I actually do wear a fedora and leather jacket every day. And while U.S. Wings is not my personal choice for an Indy jacket I thought you fine folks here would love this: Kevlar Indiana Jones jacket

SHTF movies? (besides Red Dawn, The Postman, etc.)

Some other SHTF flicks: - Signs - Deep Impact - Schindler's List Two Twilght Zone episodes also come to mind. The first is that episode with Burgess Merideth as a fellow who loves to read but keeps getting interrupted. So he goes into the bank vault to find some quiet reading time...

    Bullwhips

IMO, the absolute best paracord whip maker around is Rhett Kelley of Cow Whips.com. Last I heard he had a long waiting period but that could have changed. Give'em a shout. You can also find some well made nylon whips at Western Stage Props.

    The Rundown

I'm sure if you emailed Paul Nolan at GLD Enterprises he'll be able to answer all of your questions. He is very accomidating and friendly. I know that when Paul delivered the whips to the production that he did not make them with the fancy metal handles and knives. The prop department added...

What would you do if someone was breaking into your car outside?

Threads like this only reinforce my anger at the so-called ‘system.’ A hundred years ago a man could be hanged for stealing a horse. These days, good citizens have to think twice about shooting a car thief or home intruder because they will be charged, sued and screwed. ***!!! Where is the...
