Small female officers can't rely on physical size and strength to control most men. Force of authority and disparity in firepower are all they have. She did what she needed to do to feel secure in the situation - her own safety is her major concern.

With official +P we know that there is a standard and that that standard is not exceeded. With the unofficial .380 +P all that means is that the pressure is something over SAAMI specs but we can't know HOW MUCH it is over. It could be a little or it could be a lot.
