    Ruger SR 1911

My SR1911 CMD has been flawless in a year of ownership and EDC. The only change I made was to swap out the grips to VZ slims. It's a great 1911 with all the bells and whistles at a great price point. What's not to love?

    642 Club Part Three

I still visit the club quite often... I've started carrying a Commander length 1911 as my EDC, but the 642 still gets a lot of love. Cheers!

buying a Ruger SR1911 - need help pls

I'm running mine stock for now. My Ruger SR1911 CMD is my first 1911. I went with the Ruger over several other brands because the fit and finish was superb and it came with all the upgrades that many GI models end up with. In going to put at least 1000 rds down the pipe before I even consider...

    Which 1911?

I will second this. I put nearly 250 rounds of ball and hollowpoint down range yesterday in my SR1911 CMD's first trip to the range. No FTF, FTF, and very accurate. Great trigger as well.

    Ruger vs. Para

I "helped" my wife shop for my Christmas present this year (my first 1911). With a kid in college and another about to start her college career, price was definitely a concern and we wanted to keep it under $800. This meant looking at RIA, Ruger, and Para. I heard good things about the...

    Browning 1911 .380

Instead of doing one on a scaled down 1911 platform in .380acp, I would love to see someone come out with a new manufacture Colt 1908.

    642 Club Part Three

It's been a while since I stopped by the Club. Glad to see it still continues to add members. I've started carrying the 642 more and more in an OWB leather pancake that in my pocket. I've also added a Ruger SR1911 CMD to the stable that will be carried as well. The nice thing is that the 642...

    WWII Time Capsule 1911 & Holster ?

Great story. My dad (71 yrs old) has his father's Colt 1908 Hammerless .380 that was sidearm when he flew the mail in the 1920's. It's great to be able to pass things like these down through generations. Enjoy that 1911 and the memories that go with it.

Brought home a new SR1911 CMD

I brought an SR1911 Commander home yesterday after work. It was an early Christmas present from the lovely Mrs. Camjr. No chance to run any rounds through it yet, but I agree with you. The fit and finish is outstanding for a 1911 in this price range.

How are you carrying your J-Frame?

I strictly pocket carried my 642 for years in either a Mika Round Cut or a Nemesis holster. Several months ago, I picked up a leather OWB pancake holster on a whim. That is the most comfortable way I've ever carried any pistol or wheelgun. That little 642 disappears under a t-shirt and weighs...

    642 Club Part Three

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all! For years I carried my 642 in either a Nemesis or Mika Round Cut depending on the cut of the pocket (usually the Mika). Several months ago, I decided to give OWB a try and picked up a leather pancake holster from The Masters Holsters. For...

    S&W 442: Speer GDHP-SB 135 Velocity and Jug Test

The short barrel Gold Dot has been my round of choice for the 642 for nearly 8 years. I find it much more controllable for followup shots than the other gold standard, the 158 gr +p LSWCHP FBI load.
