Love my 522, picked it up for $375. Put a Simmons 3x-9x .22 Magnum scope and swap back and forth with a cheap Centerpoint red/green-dot. Even came with the extra rails for free. I also like the BDM magizines it uses. But yea it doesn't come with any sights which shouldn't turn ya away from it...

You make a very good point on that. I have owned a Bushmaster AR, and really liked it, though I didnt add anthing to it, or even get to shoot it much. I'm liking the Mini-14 idea, and it seems to have pretty good selection of aftermarket products as well. I've already found some laminate stocks...

I wouldn't say dead set, but I also don't want to have to spend $2 a rd, and I really like what all is available for the 10/22. But I am def open to suggestions. Did you have something in mind?

The P22 was my very first gun and I regret selling every time I buy a box of .22 rounds. Id say I put a good 2,000 rds through it with no problem. Sold it to a friend of mine and he has not had any problems either (but he also just gone through 500 rds or so, he also doesn't take good care of it...

Thats what I was figuring as well, judging off my 522. Which works out well because the range only goes out to 100 yrds. I had my mind made up on building a Remington 700 for long range and I like the feel of them. But I don't have a good place to go to make it worth my while/money. I'm not at...
