I use 400 gram in WI year round if I go to 800 gram my feet sweat to much and I'm done in a heart beat.... took me 3 sets of boots to realize I needed to drop down and not keep going up to keep warm.

Gratz on your first deer! I was out Saturday morning for our opener and saw a 4 point in the morning and in the afternoon saw an adult doe and two yearlings.... all right by the stand just no shooters for me. First one with the bow is always something to remember for ever again gratz.

Get the best you can swing and feel safe with. I have a woodworking shop so I can custom trim the house and hide the safe and let me tell you they don't even know it's there. I'm only worried about fire.

I do to but in the spring I take it in.... I would feel sick if the meat went bad and I'm 3hrs away from home and 15min to the butcher.

I had the chance to do that a couple of years ago in Honolulu with my bow.... man what a blast;)
