Insure the gun if its not already insured and make a record of the serial number. Seen too many reports of guns being checked in with TSA, then not showing up on the other end of the flight.
AFAIK the lock does not have to be built into the case, so long as it is TSA approved.
I rotate my head down into my right bicep as well; the guy teaching my CHL class didn't really like it but couldn't refute that it worked and didn't affect my peripheral vision.
The 2 I've been involved with have been with friends. Paid cash, traded no info since we knew how to find one another.
One transaction was done in the parking lot after church; the other at the office my other friend worked at.
Another Kimber owner with no problems here. Bought mine off a friend back around May and have easily put 5-600 rounds through it since with the only issue being stovepipes with Remington UMC ammo. Every other brand I've tried (S&B, WWB, Federal) have all worked as expected. If the opportunity...
Still selling guns and ammo at both the Mall and University Wal-Marts in Fayetteville when you can find someone with the key to the cabinet and authorized to sell ammo. Last time I was at the Mall Wal-Mart the old guy in the sporting goods section who had sold me ammo before was no longer...
First time I filled one out I wasn't paying attention and checked the wrong box on the yes/no questions even though I was answering them correctly out loud. It'd been a long crazy day at work and my brain was fried. I realized what I was doing and asked the guy behind the counter for another...
At least in my experience talking to the administrative assistant / purchasing agent for a local PD force, departments save a significant amount of money buying through the state approved process versus going out to Wal-Mart, etc and buying ammo. I'd guess its similar throughout the US...
Use it to clean all my guns from my M44 to my Kimber Tac Pro II; even used it to loosen the rusted in place piston on the FAL I bought. Also use it to lube the pivot points in my knives and the bearings in fans.
Don't know about using it medicinally; but I'm quite pleased with it as a gun cleaner.
Went out shooting yesterday and must say the limbsaver pad makes a big difference. It's nice to be thinking about what to do later in the day on the drive back from shooting than whether its time to finally see an ortho about the shoulder damage.
Which size limbsaver are you guys using on the M44? I love shooting my Mosin, but I've got some minor rotator cuff damage that flairs up occasionally after shooting with it.
I've got a Kimber TacProII as well and with the exception of when going through 100 rounds of Remington UMC it has been totally reliable. With the UMC I would have FTEs on average 1 every 20 rounds. With all the horror stories I've heard of Kimber's recent quality I'm feeling blessed to have...
