I received the new #8 today. They have added the Nosler calibers of 26, 28, 30. Also added the newest powders out like the new IMR 4166 etc. Other than that it looks the same as #7. It is about 50 pages smaller than #7, Which is different. The new ones are usually bigger than the old ones.
I have loaded over a thousand with Federal and Winchester brass with 230 gr, plated round nose bullets from Extreem and every one does as you have experienced. All is good, they all cycle through the gun and shoot good.
Definitely spray all the metal with WD 40 Specialist. Be sure to get the Specialist. It is a lot more $ than the regular but it is a lot better for rust proofing. It is suppose to last a year.
Try to find an older RCBS 505. e-Bay has several.

I have found good ones there and are the better ones, compared to the new foreign made ones.
