America's Center St Louis concealed carry?

The convention center is connected the football stadium. I've never heard of any problems during football games or other events at or near the stadium. Everything is in a pretty safe part of town. However, you don't need to go very far north of the convention center, say a mile or so, to...

Who else thinks interchangeable back-straps are stupid?

As someone with larger than average hands and long fingers, I can tell you that a proper grip can be hard to get and hard to maintain through recoil. A larger backstrap and a bit of a palm swell make it much easier for me to get the correct grip from holster to presentation.

$2000 to start gun collection- what would you buy?

I would lean to some older military guns. They are interesting, full of character, and many are relatively inexpensive. Swiss K31 ~ $200 - $300 depending on condition and stock (beech or walnut) Not extremely rare, but certainly unusual with the straight-pull bolt action, very well made and...

    Starter rifle

Another vote for any CZ and the Marlin 39A. A new CZ can be had in the stated price range, the Marlin not so much but worth the price new or the search used.

appreciate your opinion on CZ 2075 RAMI P

If you're not going to carry it, I would trade/sell it and find something full size for a home defense gun.

    For the ruger 10/22 lovers!

Well, you don't need to strap a light or a laser or an aftermarket stock on a 10/22 to shoot moa. And why not just buy an AR lower and dedicated .22 upper if you want to be tacticool?

    For the ruger 10/22 lovers!

I'd like to build an LTR some day (although I'm not 100% I would use a 10/22) and understand scopes and slings and free floating the barrel, etc. But I just don't grok spending big $$ to pimp out a 10/22. I guess there are too many other shooting-related things I would buy with that money...

    22 handgun for targets

Another vote for Buckmark - whatever model has the features you like. But on the other hand. If you have or are going to buy another handgun, for carry or home defense or range use, you may want to consider a .22 conversion kit for it. Most Sig, CZ, or 1911s will take conversion kits and are...

Best choice for less than $300 gun for Christmas gift?

How about something from the WWII era? You can still get a nice K31 for that price or one of the various Mausers or a Mosin Nagant and a pile of ammo. For something slight more modern, a Yugo SKS and a tech sight would come in at about $300.

    1858 New Model Army Conversion

I'm looking to buy my first single action revolver and need a bit of help. I'm quite familiar with semi auto models and manufacturers, but know very little about single action. My experience shooting single action is limited to a few hundred rounds through my father-in-law's Ruger single six...
