Mosin M44 You can't beat the price/fun/utility of a Mosin. I voted the M44 because I have one, and it it great, great fun. Get some surplus ammo and go to town. Remember with the Russian Mosins: They were zeroed WITH the bayonet on/extended. 200 yards. Should help with sighting in.

I will have to search on the best methods to clean cosmoline off the wood. My last Enfield (1940 Mk4) had a mis matched stock that drove me nuts, so I had to refinish it to match. Perhaps after a good shine job the stock will come out nice. If the bands were not painted, were they...
