    Quality of the Lithgow Enfields?

So I happened to spot a 1915 Lithgow made Enfield #1 Mk 3 (no *) The stock has seen better days but the metal is good, no import marks and the bore is shiny. Are the rifles from Lithgow good makes? Did I do well at 109.99 OTD? No pics yet.. Coming soon

    Scoping an Enfield #4 Mk1

The rifle is in really good shape. All matching numbers, clean shiny bore and no import marks. I got a great deal on it a few months back because the stock was in need of a refinish. I didn't notice how bad the front sight was until I took it out to test at 25 yards and zero at 100. No...

    Scoping an Enfield #4 Mk1

So, I have a pretty sweet 1944 Enfield #4 Mk1 that has a wonderfully mangled front sight post. I am in the process of ordering a replacement for it but I got the crazy notion to scope it while I was at it. B-square mount is what I had in mind, no drilling needed. Quick background: I love...

    Moisin or AK?

Mosin M44 You can't beat the price/fun/utility of a Mosin. I voted the M44 because I have one, and it it great, great fun. Get some surplus ammo and go to town. Remember with the Russian Mosins: They were zeroed WITH the bayonet on/extended. 200 yards. Should help with sighting in.

A little worried about my new purchase

Thanks guys! I have since given the cylinder a good scrubbing, it didn't "look" nasty, but the patches were not so clean..... I hope to try her again soon!

A little worried about my new purchase

Ok, so I found a 1943 Nagant Revolver, sporter (bull barrel, adjustable sights, large grip really ugly but neat) for a song. I took her out to the range yesterday with some Hot Shot 7.62 Nagant ammo. The good: 2 inch group at 25 yards, rested. Happy happy happy The bad: Half of the time...

    Best Gun Store Purchase Surprise?

I just snagged a sweet 1917 Enfield SMLE Mk1 #3* for 100.00 The store found it after it had been in a storage container from an old move, 12 years ago. Still had the original price tag on it. No import marks, metal has almost all its' original blue, and the bore is as bright and shiny with deep...

Picked up a new friend today....

Thanks for the tips Amish! Thanks for the pic as well, now I know mine has more character than flaws. That is much more important to me than shiny. Thanks to everyone else for the nice remarks!

Picked up a new friend today....

I will have to search on the best methods to clean cosmoline off the wood. My last Enfield (1940 Mk4) had a mis matched stock that drove me nuts, so I had to refinish it to match. Perhaps after a good shine job the stock will come out nice. If the bands were not painted, were they...

Picked up a new friend today....

Hehe. I will post pics this afternoon, before I remove the stock to clean the cosmoline up. Any tips on checking head space on an Enfield? *EDIT* Oh, and I will try to get a pic of the bore as well, but it looks amazing. Shiny with deep grooves.
