    S&W M&P 9mm VTAC ejecting "Funny"

I had a Glock 19 that did that as well. I just started wearing a baseball cap. You could contact S&W if it bothers you much and they can re-tune it. No need in buying an ejector or extractor, leave the 50/50 gamble to the manufacturer. Cheers!

    Glock 26 vs Ruger SR9c (w/pics)

The Ruger is a good gun and it is American made. Oh wait, is Smyrna, Georgia not in the U.S. any more? :-D

    Can't sit down carrying concealed

I never have a problem sitting and driving with mine IWB. Most of the older CCW people that I know tend to say that when you resort to OWB carry you tend to start leaving your gun in the car or stop carrying all together. I'm not knocking it, but I can't wear an over-sized outer garment or the...

    What's your "never buy" gun?

    Any Hi-Point... or Kel-Tec.

Practice with 9mm, but carry 40sw???

My philosophy is also to practice with what you carry. I practice with and carry my M&P9c with 115 grain FMJ and carry 115 grain JHP, both in standard pressure. You really need to know exactly how fast you can fire follow-up shots and I feel that switching back and forth between calibers is...

    Sig Sauer P239 Carriers...Chime In

Get a Bianchi 100 or a Desantis Sof-Tuck... they'll hold you over and both cinch-up pretty tight. I prefer the Bianchi.

    Used buying advice

Field strip it and look for the obvious signs of neglect (funk and frame damage). If they neglect to clean the gun, they probably abuse them as well. Also, I always carry a No.2 pencil to drop down the muzzle and see if the firing pin is intact. Lastly, give it the old rattle test to check wear...

First gun for carry...PPS or G26

Just my opinion... I'd go with the Glock because of the capacity and the fact that the Glock is nearly 1/4" shorter. Afterall, the grip is what's going to print and the Walther isn't that much more thin anyway (only .14" thinner). Cheers!

    What am I missing??

I know what you mean. I can get good plinking ammo (Federal Champion 9mm) in my town for about $11 including taxes. If I were to buy ammo on Midway or somewhere similar I would have to pay like $6 in shipping costs. It is as you said, ammo is just not expensive enough in your area to justify...

    I chose a ______ as a CCW because:

Right now I carry a Smith and Wesson M&P9c during the winter and a Smith and Wesson Bodyguard .380 during the hot southern summers (both in Bianchi 100 holsters). I always carry an extra magazine and a Streamlight Scorpion flashlight as well. > The M&P holds 13 rounds and is reasonable for...

    Can't sit down carrying concealed

The people before me are right. No low-rise jeans and wear one size larger (ex. if you wear a 32, buy 34). When you're not packing you can just cinch them tighter. Also, buy a good leather or reinforced nylon gun belt. Being a CCW holder is a lifestyle and you have to adapt some things around...

    Glocks and Federal Champion ammo

I had the same problem out of a G17. It would eat anything, but the cheap Federal Champions always produced at least one FTE per box. The slide doesn't get thrown back hard enough to eject the spent round and it partially feeds the next round causing a stovepipe. They are just cheap...

LEO harassed my wife about CCW this morning

I live in and am a police officer in TN. Handgun permit holders do not have to declare if they have a gun if they are not asked by the officer. I do recommend you do though because some of my fellow officers are pricks.

Ruger MK III 22/45 Barrel Length?

Well, shorter barrels typically equate to faster target transition and sight alignment, while longer barrels typically equate to more precision due to longer sight radius. My advice would be that it all depends on which area you lack in. I personally have the 4 1/2" as it is the closest to a...

    The Marlin 1894 Club

This is my first and only lever gun; the Marlin 1894c .357. I use the NcStar picatinny rail ($8 on Amazon) so I can switch back and forth between my "el cheapo" Tasco 4x32 scope and TruGlo red dot. I can also leave it bare and use the iron sights with the picatinny because the valley down the...
