My load is 15.7g of 800x under 200 grain xtp. Out of my 6" 629 I am getting 1615 fps for what it is worth. It is a very accurate load and I took a nice buck last year at 80 yds with this load.
There are a lot of good ones for under $900. Guns are like cars find one that feels good and you like to drive. There are benefits and downsides to all of them and you have to find one that works for you. My opinion is to fire as many different ones you can before you buy.
First, I think this pistol is a great package for CCW and carry it often. I also shoot it quite a bit but it wasn't I until shouting it in an indoor range in fairly dark conditions. The shooting lane light was out, not the target light just the one over the shooting station. I shot several...
I had a few of my favourites at the range today and among them was my XDs .45. I shot it last after a couple .40s and a 9mm and the muzzle flash was almost disorienting at the indoor range from the XDs. I was firing Fed. HST and Hydroshock among other ball ammo and they all had a huge fireball...
Thank You. I am a Smith guy mainly because that is what I learned to shoot with. I have tried other brands but only a few of them are still in the safe. I think the K6s might just find its way into my safe.
Nice review. I finally got to handle one the other day at a shop and it felt really nice. The trigger felt great for a factory trigger and I probably would not mess with it if I end up picking one up. I just couldn't bring myself to pay what they were asking. My only concern with it is the...
I just wanted to second the thought of a double barrel BP to go along with your revolver. I have both and if I had to pick one it would be the shotgun. If you are using these in a residence or building I don't think you will be able to see anything(with all the smoke) after the first shot or...
I have the original 290 and will never get rid of it. I have had a lot of small 9mm and this is the only one that has been 100% reliable. Trigger is not great or even good but I will trade that for the reliability any day of the week. If I found one locally for $300 I would by two.
I do...
I have tried some of Wolfs replacement main springs and I am not a huge fan. Have someone slick up the action if you are not comfortable doing it yourself and try a reduced trigger return spring. My 642 has a smooth 7lb trigger with a factory main spring after some work.
If you draw and start firing as soon as you get on target, you can end up with your off hand in front of your muzzle. What I am talking about is basically shooting from the hip because you are very close to the BG.
