OP, I used to compare the recoil of my Beretta 84F in .380 to that of a .22 in a smaller handgun. It really was, to me, a mild, soft-shooting gun. I would guess one of their 82 models in .32 ACP would only be even milder. A tip-up barrel would solve any issues of difficulty racking the slide.

I learned to shoot on a Colt .38 Super converted (by King's, if I recall correctly) to .38 Special. My grandfather's; he used it for bullseye shooting. I have it now, with only 1 magazine unfortunately. I'd love to find a spare.

Be aware that you may likely have to add some new adjustment holes to this as well. I did, and I'm pretty tall.

I have and use a Cardini Leathers vertical shoulder holster. It is a bit different from most vertical holsters because it has a pivot function which allows the handgun to be carried fully vertically but drawn from a more natural horizontal angle. It is well made and worth more than the $100 it...

My best friend and I had to have these in the early '80s. I still have mine, although it hasn't been shot in decades. It got plenty of use though; I even rigged up a shoulder holster for it so I could pretend to be a certain famous movie cop while I was out shoveling snow in the driveway :)

Same here. My philosophy about these matters is: Reliability > Accuracy > Caliber I currently carry a Sig P365xl, for what it's worth.

Are you able to use .38 Super mags with the .38 Special wadcutters? I ask because I inherited my grandfather's old bullseye gun of very similar configuration. The one magazine I have for it is well beyond it's "best by" date.

I remembering seeing these in the holsters of Milwaukee police officers in the late '80's. I thought, "Why are they carrying Rugers?" Now I know. Wish I had one.
