Cold steel srk, or the becker c/u 7... I like the becker a little better but you can't beat those cold steel sheaths.

I find glocks to be the perfect hand gun for me... They just seem to be lighter, softer recoiling, more durrable, and have a higher capacity for their size compaired to other pistols. They point great for me and I never get any jams. And I am scarry good with my G19.

I tried a grip on the pump and I hated it... If they were that practical you would see more of them around. Just my .02 cents.

J frame guy here as well... I used to go with a 340 but I revently switched back to my 442. Its only a few ounces heavier but I shoot it better.

I bought a bull barrel and the houge stock for my 1022 and I love it... I have a 1.5-4.45 nikon on it and it could not be happier. I even put a harris folding bi pod on it... I call it my mini me sniper.

I would call the cops as soon as tactically possible... You may stop them from hurting someone else. And calling the cops covers you as well. Be a good witness that what I would do.

Your millitary background should be more than enough experience for the class. Keep your rifle pointed in a safe direction, follow the instructors directions and have fun.

For the rifle go with any of the big names bushmaster, colt, rra what ever floats your boat. I would get an M4A3 and mount an aimpoint co witnessed with the front sight and buy a flip up rear sight. Just put that red dot over anything that needs killing. and if your optic fails you still have...
