I like my 50 cal Black Knight. I shoot a sabot 45 jacketed hollow point pistol bullet pushed by 150 grains of Pyrodex R. As it is all black, it looks like an assault rifle. Up north in the 'rifle zone', I use my 1903 30-06.

My most painful memory was at the gun range with my 1903 doing some firing practice, when the guy next to me was complaining about his new gun. I asked what the problem was, and he said the shop had bore sighted it, but he wasn't hitting paper. I asked if he minded if I tried, and he agreed to...

I like my 50 cal... Black Knight inline black powder rifle, that is! Up to 200 grains of FFG pushing a sabot 45 pistol bullet. Unless you HAVE to have a cartridge, you are light on the smaller calibers. ;)

Use the $1000 to buy lead, and when the SHTF, an ounce of lead will be worth a pound of gold. Unless you have gold bullets? ;)

Sorry to see the damage. I wonder how 'rusted' the metal was to cause someone to sand it down to that extent. It will take a lot of work to salvage it with all the sanding scratches in the metal...

All my firearms are wood and blued steel. The only different finish is on my 50 cal assault black knight in-line black powder rifle... It has a black finish that makes it look mean ;) and gets lots of comments!

Capt Hank, you have a serious problem with that bolt. Disassemble the bolt sleeve and remove the safety, it is pressed in. if you can screw the bolt sleeve into the bolt fully, then look at the safety shaft being too long. If not, maybe the firing pin assembly? I had the same scope safety on...

I have a sporterized Rock Island Arsenal 1903 made in 1913 with matching barrel and bolt dates. The floor plate has NRA stamped in it. The barrel is dark, but I am working on it, but if I can find another 1913 barrel, I would like to swap it, as the original barrel has the front sight changed...
