Avoiding bullet set-back with multiple chamberings (CCW topic)

I usually drop the mag, and fire a round into the ceiling. It helps me to cycle out the top round and keep it from set back. :)

Sig P226 9mm CPO followed me home

I have put about 500 rounds through my "new" CPO 226, and it shoots like a charm. I notice it shot left a bit, but that was handled with the Sig sight pusher. I am pretty sure they put in a new barrel too, as there were no smileys on it, and the serial number on the barrel didn't match the...

    Getting tremors when I shoot

It happens to me to if I go about 3 to 6 months without shooting. I have gone pretty consistently for the past several months, and the tremors have gone down significantly. If I haven't go in a while, I can shoot 9mm almost forever with no issues, but go about 50 to 75 rounds of 0.40 or 50...

What are the dumbest gun handling skills you've seen in hollywood movies?

Every movie where SWAT/LEO or some type of entry team, is just about to enter a dangerous situation, and that is when they all start pulling the slide or charging handles, back on their weapons to load a round into the chamber. What are police in Hollywood not allowed to have a round in the...

I can't get the stock off my 870!

How did this thread get resurrected from the dead?:)

Have you ever had a dream in which you can't shoot?

Who says Sigs are reliable? I have a 99% failure rate (usually failure for the first round to seat into the chamber properly) in my dreams. Either that or I have the gun, but can't find where I misplaced all the bullets.

    Pistol Grip for ARs?

Magpul MIAD. Hard to beat, since it is modular, you can switch out the panels to fit your hand.

I knew it was only a matter of time.

Other than mall ninjas, who are they marketing this product towards? Every new product usually has some target audience, I am not sure what target audience this is going to? I can't imagine LE going for this.

    Too close for comfort

I finished reading your post over at arf.com. I'm glad the THR members here are little more mature, and aren't giving you grief about the ejection port door being closed. :barf: I grew up in a tough area, so I know the feeling.... Stay safe.

Do you ever get silly requests from non-gun owners?

Most of my requests are from co-workers who tongue-in-cheek, request that I "kill someone", that happens to be annoying him/her that day. I usually just brush off their comments, and think to myself that I am glad that I am the responsible gun owner and not them. :)

    Flashlight Review: Fenix L1T

Thanks, My 1 yr old daughter dragged my L1P to some unknown location in our house. I am sure it will turn up when she graduates from college. I was going to order another one for EDC but looks like the L1T would be the better option.

    I'm here now!!!

Welcome to life behind the Iron Wall in California. Be careful, you don't want to get your list of guns reduced to zero with a felony charge. While the AWB has been lifted in all of the free states :) , in California we are still restricted by the penal code - PC 12276.1. The list of centerfire...

    Middle Easterners at the range

Profiling is sadly human nature. I am of Chinese descent, and yet when I go to the range, I get nervous if I see a large group of Asians, thinking to myself " oh no...Japanese tourist, they are going to rent the 44 magnum because they saw Dirty Harry use it". And no I am not racist, my wife is...

    16" baton effectiveness

I can't believe a collapsible baton is a felony in this state:cuss: . At night, I just carry my streamlight ultrastinger as a defensive "stick".

Dumbest thing you heard/saw in a Gun Store or at the range.

Probably not the dumbest, but still dumb: 10 years ago, I was in the indoor range, and two guys were sharing a bay next to me. One must have made 2 recent purchases, and the other one was a brand new shooter. The one who owned, had a Beretta 92FS and a Taurus look alike. Owner: "Yeah, this...
