What will my lever gun like to eat the best?

If you handload, try some Ranger 158 gr Missouri Bullets in 18 BHN. These are RNFP and feed like a dream, and very accurate, 38 or 357. Some links you may find useful. http://www.leverguns.com/articles/taylor/rossi.htm http://marauder.homestead.com/files/Rossitune.htm...

    Full Auto Garand

Actually, it was Forrest Guth of the 506 PIR that modded the M-1. The book, Band of Brothers, states that "He (Capt. Spiers) especially appreciated the way Guth could take a file and work on the tripper housing of an M-1 and make it fully automatic. (Winters got one of the Guth specials. He...

    Best electronic scale under $100

mbruce, that sounds like the first line of a great song...... To the OP, check out a Jennings Mack 20, around $75. Not the smallest scale around, and the lid might be a bit cumbersome (until you customize it), but it always agrees with my RCBS 505 and is accurate to +/-0.1 gr. When trickling...

New Lee classic turret mystery part... help please

It's a spare, courtesy of Lee. Hang on to it. It goes inside the auto-index clamp (TF 3566), when the one that's in there wears out.

Lee turret - ratchet not ratcheting problem

+1 RustyFN's advice Petroleum based grease will cause plastic to deteriorate. Just a tad of graphite on the rod smooths it out if the action feels a little rough. Also, inspect the ratchet closely and make sure that the square hole isn't rounded out. I must be more ham-fisted than...

    rossi m92

I agree w/ Chas; the Steve Young's video is a great resource. Unfortunately, he didn't have the ejector spring in stock when I did my action job, but I found a spring kit at Brownell's that I can highly recommend: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/sid=5918/pid=1577/sku/Rossi_92_Spring_Kit This...

    J-frame match for S&W 65???

Natty, the M60 will do all that except the concealed hammer. And if you don't want the Hilary hole, go with an older one.

    Reloading .308 Speed Bump

Did you full-length size the brass? My 700 acts like that if you run the brass through the neck sizer only. I have to FL size every time.

    Wolf small pistol primers

Hmm. I scored 2K of the 9-09 batch (silver) of SPP's to try out last summer when I couldn't get anything else. You do have to make sure they are seated deeply enough. The only FTF's I've experienced are with one revolver with lighter springs. The ones that did not ignite in that gun all...

Opinions of Rossi .357/.38 lever action rifle?

I have the LSI/Puma version. 20" octogonal barrel. Mine is very accurate. Some are more smooth than others, but gunsmith Steve Young sells a video that gives step by step instructions on how to eliminate most of the cycling issues these might have. If you have or buy one of these guns, I...

Steve's Guns also has a new peep sight that replaces the wart safety. Turns ugly into pretty useful.

    anybody get sick after reloading?

Try a simple hardware store dust respirator mask. I am sensitive to the lead dust when depriming, and also the dust from the tumbler when separating brass from media. The mask saves me from a headache. I have found that I don't need it after the brass is clean and primed, though.
