Looking at the manufacturer’s online data for 357 mag 158gr it’s 1265fps at max for 2400 and 1241 for w572. Granted I’m not sure if a gold dot is “slicker” making for a not so equal. For nearly half the charge using 572 it seems like a reasonable compromise. Was just curious if anyone had...

Local shop was out of 2400 and suggested w572. I’ve seen very few posts about w572 and wanted some opinions on its use in 357mag and 44mag. Looks to be more economical as well. What do you all think?

Purchased within the last two years. No other issues with older ammo/brass that have been stored away much longer and in the same conditions. Just thought the way the brass split was strange.

To clarify this was factory ammo fired through an 1894. The brass was saved and wet tumbled, then sized. definitely a keeper for the scrapbook ha!
