I use the +1 in my Kel-Tec P-3AT, and would in any other gun with a similar capacity. But I don't bother with the extra if I'm carrying a Glock 19.

I agree completely. That's why a think a person who doesn't have a gun should be called "a person who doesn't have a gun," and people who don't want anyone to have a gun should be called "people who don't want anyone to have a gun." Inventing new labels loaded with negative connotations...

I don't like the analogy either. A sheepdog's job is to help the farmer control the sheep, so that the farmer can shear and slaughter them. Sure, any analogy can be stretched too far, but sheep have every reason to fear and hate the sheepdog.
