If you carry cocked and locked, have you ever at days end found your safety off?

Cheap-O Holster + Extended Ambi-Saftey + swinging arm when walking = *click* YIKES Got a better holster, never happened again.

    Best Improvised Home Self Defense?

Anything is a weapon As a Truck Driver I spend 90% of my time in my truck and 9% of my time wandering about truckstops and loading docks. When outside of my truck, IF for some reason I could not defend myself with my carry or my BUG (i.e. ill-annoy where it's illegal) I still have several...

    Ordering guns?

Cost of ordering Local price for gun X=$300+Tax Out of state price for gun X=$235+shipping+FFL transfer fee If you purchase a gun from outside of your home state, you don't pay sales tax on it. You do pay shipping and a transfer fee. The FFL sets his own transfer fee but it has always...

P3at - good choice or bad choice

Keltec all the way The P3AT is a great choice if you want a pocket gun. It would be a bad choice for a high volume range gun. I can put about 100 rounds thru mine at a time before it starts rubbing a hole in the webbing of my hand. Mine has been 100% in 800 rounds. Regards, Dalton

How many of you regularly carry a pistol?

Always. There is at least 1 handgun available for defense at all times. I carry whenever I have pants on. After pulling on my pants, I insert things I may need into my pockets, pocketknife, wallet, money, gun, keys, lighter, cell phone, etc. Also, 95% of the time there is an XD45 within easy...

    Keltec P32 or NAA 22Mag?

Keltec all the way I carry a P3AT everywhere, shooting it isn't that much different than shooting the P32. Felt recoil is SLIGHTLY more, but not unbearable. I can't explain it, but I found the P3AT to be much more accurate in my hands than was the P32. Either would make a fine...

    Stolen Gun Hot Sheet?

Not sure My method has always been to call my local Police Chief and ask him to run the SN. As far as a public database, I have never heard of such a thing. It would be nice though. I always thought of it as 1 more reason to be on friendly terms with the local cops. If you have the Serial...

    What drills for CCW class?

The CCW class is different depending on state. If I were helping someone practice up for CCW class in Ohio, I would have them shoot the qualification test until they got comfortable. For practice I usually use a smaller target than the standard silhouette. Ohio's qualification test is simple...

Do most gun owners drive pickup trucks?

My Pickup Yes, I own pickup trucks, but that is unrelated to gun ownership in my case. I was a gun owner long before I was a Commercial Driver, before getting into trucking, I owned only cars, usually old cars. Once I got into trucking I realized just how impractical it is to haul 8 drive...

Best off brand handgun you've ever owned?

Define "Best" For me, there are 2. 1. If defining "best" as "best quality, fit, finish, and feel" in an inexpensive firearm, the award goes to my Bersa Thunder .380 However, Due perhaps to my guardian angel wishing for more firepower, I can't seem to shoot one without a severe slide bite...

    Best "summer carry" cc gun

My Favorite "Armed when almost naked" gun is the Keltec P3AT, carries just like a second wallet, I can even go without a shirt with it in my hip pocket. It also fits nicely into the key pocket sewn into some swimsuits, probably not a good idea to actually swim with it in there.

    Glocks through metal detector? Um...right...

Shortly before Glock came on the scene, and long before I ever saw one, there was a heavily hyped piece about this "undetectable gun" and how kids could take it past metal detectors to shoot up their schools, on the NW Ohio local (liberal) news stations. There was a piece a few months later on...

    Guns in God's House?

I carried at my own wedding, and at my sisters. I am inclined to believe that I should be prepared at ALL times. Dalton

    SHTF storage...

Well worth it. I have one and I use it for EVERYTHING. Don't bother buying the bags, they are a rip-off, go for the huge roll, it can make any size bag you need. And at $10 per roll it's cheap to feed. I store changes of clothes, money, guns, and a multitude of other stuff with mine. No...
