    I'd also submit that bullet selection and placement can mean more than caliber...especially with regard to meat loss.

    I'd add that I sometimes use a .375 H&H on deer, and ours are little Sitka Blacktails. I've watched my brother kill 50+ blacktails with his 300 winmag. Other than being heavy to carry, I've never regretted having a larger caliber, but have on a couple of occasions wished for one... Never...
