I picked up a Sistema from Gander Mountain last year for $ 250.00, changed out all the springs and pins, use Metalform 7 round mags and I have never had a failure in 1000 rounds. If I was so inclined, I would not hesitate to carry it concealed. Hope this is of some help and keep us posted...

Stopped into my local Gander Mountain at lunch today to do the usual tire kicking and chit-chat with a couple guys that work there, when one pointed me to a small case they had set up with handguns that were marked to move. Low and behold they had two hi-power practicals priced at $399.00 each...

As had been said...shoot it. The only things I did to mine were replace all the springs and pins and it has never failed to work in over 1,000 rounds. No MIM, castings, plastic and such. Just a pistol manufactured as per the original intent and works as such.

Craig, I have carried a 2 1/8 spur hammer SP with Houges in the front pocket, no holster, when a belt holster isn't an option. As others have stated, it is a little on the heavy side, but very possible....I would rather be uncomfortable and armed. Also, pocket carry is far too...

I use a Silver Dollar Pancake from http://www.simplyrugged.com/ and I love it....Rob is a fantastic guy to deal with. Carry a 2 1/8 in SP101 w/spur hammer and for me, it is the perfect carry setup.

Richard, I can only comment on the Springfield GI as I have no first hand experience with the others you mentioned. I just picked up a brand new Springfield GI from Cabela's in Dundee. Price was $449.00 plus I had a $50.00 gift card that I applied towards the purchase. I am very impressed...
