    NEW model 70 Winchester Rifles

Good Morning, I purchased a featherweight in 243 last year. The fit and finish is comparable to my CZ, and the wood is beautiful. She always draws a crowd at the range, and my last 3 shot group at 300 yards was 1 1/2" with hand loads. I think I'll keep her. Ken

How Accurate is Your New Model 70?

Good Morning, I have a featherweight in 243. Almost to pretty to shoot, and the fit and finish is outstanding. After spending some time with her, and doing some load development, the last time at the range she shot a 1 1/2" group at 300 yards off of a bench. I think I'll keep her, Ken

Good Evening, I just filled out the all the paperwork today, and got all of the required info together. The order will be in the mail tomorrow for a Service Grade H&R. If it looks half as good as yours, I'll be more than happy. Now the waiting begins, Ken

    Model 70 featherweight accuracy

Good Morning, I have a new model 70 Featherweight in 243, and it will shoot. I'm also very impressed with the fit and finish of the rifle. The wood is beautiful, and it always draws other shooters at the range to stop by and check it out, and they seem equally impressed. When I take it to...

Can a pump guy be as good as a semiauto guy?

Good Morning Pretty Awsome what Herb Parsons could do with a pump shotgun on that Utube video. But if you look off to the right hand side of the same video, you'll see Tom Knapp breaking 10 hand thrown clay targets in 2 seconds with a supposedly out of the box Benelli semi auto. For those who...

    Featherweight Deluxe

Good Morning, I bought a 243 featherweight about 6 months ago. The wood and the fit and finish are stunning, and she shoots as good as she looks. Last 3 shot group I shot off of a bench rest was 1 1/2" at 300 yards. I thinks she is a keeper. Ken

    12 Ga. H&R UltraSlug?

Good Morning, I have the 20 gauge version with the heavy barrel. She shoot 1/2" groups at 50 yards with no problem. I tryed at least 10 different sabot slugs through her, and she shot all of them well, but the Remington Accutips won out, but only by a small margin over the Hornadys. Since...

    700 SS 5r Milspec

I shot a 2.15" 5 shot group at 600 yards with mine using 175gr SMK over Varget. My other three groups weren't as good, but I ended up averaging 4.8" after 20 shots. It was good enough to finish in second place at a local 600 yard IBS shoot in the factory division. Considering it was only my...

    CZ 452 American or Varmint

Good Morning, I purchased the CZ Varmint with the thumbhole stock about 6 months ago and love it. After shooting the thumbhole stock for a while, regular stocks seem awkward. It's a super accurate little rifle. I shot a .388" 100 yard 4 shot group off a bench with it. Bottom line, like...

    H&R slug guns

I own the 20 gauge heavy barrel H&R. It shoots 3/4"" groups at 50 yards, and the recoil isn't that bad. She really like the Remington Accu Tip Slugs. Trigger isn't to bad, but the heavy barrel is definately a gun for a tree stand. It would be pretty heavy to carry around all day. Ken

    New Winchester Model 70 impressions

Love my new Model 70 Featherweight 243. After doing some load development, my last three shot group at 300 yards was 1 1/2", right in the X ring. She's also a head turner at the range (old guys love wooden stocks). The wood in the stock is beautiful, and the checkering is outstanding. The...

    guns from NY to DE

Delaware does not require you to register your firearms. Ten years ago when my Dad passed away in NY, he had it set up to transfer his handguns to me in Delaware through a registered firearms dealer in NY, to a dealer in Delaware. All I had to do was pay the transfer fees. Very plain and simple...

    Got invited to hunt coyotes

You might want to watch "Predator Quest" on the Sportsman Channel. Coyotes don't stand a chance when Les "gets to calling". A word of advice, he always has a shotgun handy as a backup for those multable close up coyote encounters. Ken

Let's talk about the new production Win. 70's, Ruger M77's and Rem. 700's...

I just purchased a new Model 70 Featherweight in 243, and she's a beauty. Fit and finish is comparable to my CZ, and she's a shooter. My last 3 shot group at 300 yards was 1 1/2" shooting off of a bench. The trigger is crisp with virtually no take up. The safety is a little stiff, but it seems...
