Loading oversized bullets in a 6.5 carcano.

Well, found a simple solution to the problem Found a barrel on ebay for $50 with great rifling. Another hundred at my local Gunsmith to swap them out. Now back to normal diameter bullets..

Loading oversized bullets in a 6.5 carcano.

I would LOVE to rebarrel this rifle, but my only options are a "heavy rust in the bore"barrel from apex or just buy another TS carbine. Anyone know of a maker that would make a new barrel for this rifle?

Loading oversized bullets in a 6.5 carcano.

I bought a TS carbine Carcano on GunBroker. The seller claimed the bore had sharp rifling, turned out that wasn't the case at all. She slugged to .2635 on the lands and .272 on the grooves. I ruined three brass brushes and a hundred patches before I got relatively clean patch through that...

Restoring ANOTHER Enfield, and have No1*** questions

ressurection post: I am avoiding the Pakistani ammo now. That last box I shot was just awful. I got a great group with Privi Partizan, but it was stringing up and down. That was my fault, strictly breathing issues. I'm also putting an Addley Precision scope mount on it. I either need new...

Got a new "survival/pack" rifle - show me yours

By the way, here is her final sight in at 25 yards: Now, according to Colonel Cooper, never touch a bench with her again, work the positions. How do some of your guy's backpack guns shoot?

WHERE did you find a stainless steel underfolder for a 10/22!? Is it still in production? I want a "shoulder thing that goes up".

Got a new "survival/pack" rifle - show me yours

The only "pack" gun I have that's really dedicated to the concept is my folding hatfield shotgun in 12 gauge: Thinking about adding an old Poly-choke that my gunsmith has in the back of his shop. She currently has ten mini-shells in the buttstock pouch. As far as "survival" goes, for the...

Restoring ANOTHER Enfield, and have No1*** questions

I have the entire barrel channel acra-glassed, and am just waiting for it to cure. Few more days. I have a partial box of privi factory ammo with the 174 boat tail bullet, should be sufficient for the final test shoot.. I am confident that with the pressure applied to the barrel, and ammo that...

Restoring ANOTHER Enfield, and have No1*** questions

Well, after installing a shorter front sight, drift the front to the left and the rear to the right, as well as three layers of poster board (thanks, Goose) under the barrel, what I got at 25yards was this: Shot with this old stuff: Pakistan surplus. I'm going to acra-glass the barrel...

So how do I go about measuring forearm pressure on the barrel?

Restoring ANOTHER Enfield, and have No1*** questions

After I polish the drag out of the trigger (it is every bit a military two stage) I will put in a shorter front sight blade, drift left and the rear slider right. I will then shoot three groups each with a pressure point on the front of the barrel channel, and without a pressure point. I'll then...

Restoring ANOTHER Enfield, and have No1*** questions

Honestly, I think a shorter sight blade, drifted slightly to the left will solve a lot of the issues. I will be polishing the trigger contact surfaces with jeweler's rouge and a dremel tool. maybe that will help tighten it up a bit. To be honest, I had forgotten about the difference between...

Restoring ANOTHER Enfield, and have No1*** questions

Also, that last group was rushed, 3 minutes till range closing, with a hot barrel and to be perfectly honest, A better set of glasses could have helped. That up and down stringing is completely a breathing control issue under time.

I see what you're looking at. The sight is true, that's just me holding a cell phone with one hand and the rifle with the other. The rifle was a little cock-eyed in the photo.
