    Got invoiced from PV

If your order contains powder, it could be up to another 2 weeks before you get shipment notification. If it's just primers or other components, you may see shipment notification within a day or two. I know this from recent experience :(

    Fav 40 load

For steel plates, 140gr IDP#7 (140gr) lead TCFP from Missouri Bullet Co. over 5gr of WST. COAL of 1.125". Very accurate, fairly clean. I burn through 100+ nearly every weekend in my M&P .40 :D

    primers

Absolutely. If they don't go bang the first time, keep smackin' 'em with a firing pin until they do! They can take it! :D

    Primer Prices

Squatch, I'm not getting the math. Are you saying that $26.50/K is the all-in price you paid for the primers, including hazmat, shipping, tax, and insurance? How many primers did you buy? $123 + $42 = $165, and if you divide that by 5 (to get the 1K "brick" price for what I'm guessing was a 5K...

    Best chronograph for the buck

Great idea, but useless for an awful lot of semi-auto handguns. It could probably be adapted for those that have a rail, but classic 1911 guns get no lovin'.

    Midway Powder Shipping

FYI, I got my shipment confirmation Tuesday this week with an estimated arrival date of Monday the 25th. Pretty much as I expected :)

    Midway Powder Shipping

I'm not sure whether you're asking about ordering from Powder Valley or Midway, but I went with the former to eliminate the middleman :) I ordered 2 8lb jugs of WST and 1lb of Ramshot Zip on February 10th and received an invoice on March 5th. Both were listed as In Stock. Looking at their...

Winchester WSF and WST in stock at Powder Valley

Well, that's where a reloading buddy or two comes in handy. A friend and I both shoot a lot of WST, so 2 8lb jugs (one for him, one for me) through PV worked out to significantly less per pound than I could find locally. One order, one hazmat.

    Taper Crimp Not Even Needed?

Adding just a little bit more clarity :D

Powder, brass and primer famine in your area too?

I buy my guns locally, but not my components. I have 15K SPP on hand purchased when the gettin' was good (about 2 years ago) and 15K of LPP I bought from Powder Valley last month. Difference in price between the two was about $5 per K with shipping and hazmat included. Shooting 150 rounds or...

Primer prices. What are you paying?

Powder Valley isn't accepting back orders at this time. There's an explanation on their home page . . .

Primer prices. What are you paying?

Qty 15K Federal 150 LPP, with shipping and hazmat included, worked out to $29/K. This was through Powder Valley; ordered on January 4th, received January 24th.

    just ordered 500 rounds

That's $17 per 50 rounds, making it more expensive than similar 180gr .40S&W at Walmart (for example, Federal Champion 180gr JFP). You also don't have to pay HAZMAT along with shipping at Walmart. I reload though, and my 180gr .40S&W are roughly $50 per 500 now ;)

    found this at the range

This looks exactly like the case head separation I saw recently at our range. I was the RSO Saturday morning at our weekly plate shoot; one of our regulars was shooting relatively mild reloads in his Glock 22C with a Lone Wolf barrel. He pulled the trigger, got a pretty impressive bang, and the...

    LNL AP Accessories?

Another note: If you're reloading for semi-auto pistol, note that the Hornady New Dimension die sets come with a seater-crimper that provides only a roll crimp. I've had much better success by using the Hornady die for seating only, and using a separate Hornady taper crimp die. Before making...
