    angiers metal refinishing book

    Does anyone have angiers metal bluing and refinishing book? I'm trying to figure out what the old timers used for water displacing after rust bluing. I'm sure they didn't use commercial oils and it really burns me to pay $34 for a quart of oil. I've been told DON'T use wd40 but no recommenation...

    newbie with rust blue problem

    I'm not messing with the black finish on the receiver just the previously blued parts. I did however speak with a brownell tech today who said this was not at all uncommon with classic rust blue solution on the harder parts like the hammer and bolt. I'll just keep going and see what happens.
